Los Angeles

Los Angeles, or the City of Angels as it is known, has many sights to see. Most of the attractions are centred on movies, which can be expected since it is home to Hollywood. The city itself is very diverse and there are many different cultures to see and experience.

Los Angeles’ movie making history draws millions to Hollywood each year. Here, visitors can visit museums and sites that are dedicated to the stars of the big screen or travel to the rich suburbs of Bel Air and Beverly Hills to try and spot a star. The famous Rodeo drive in Beverly Hills is fantastic for window shopping.

In downtown LA, there are some very interesting buildings, including Union Station and the Civic Centre. The Civic Centre is America's second largest complex of government buildings and has been the setting for several Hollywood films. El Pueblo de Los Angeles, also downtown, is a fascinating historical park and definitely worth a visit. To experience the diversity of LA, visit Olvera street, an open-air Mexican marketplace, or Chinatown.

Los Angeles has some fascinating museums including The Museum of Contemporary Art, The John Paul Getty collection of museums, Museum of Tolerance and Children’s Museum.

Disneyland and Universal Studios lie just outside of LA and are probably one of the biggest attractions to the area. Santa Monica, the Canyons, Venice beach, Pasadena and Palm Springs are not far by car and make excellent day trips.
