Serving almost 3 million passengers annually, Shannon Airport is one Ireland’s key points of entry for flights arriving from transatlantic destinations. Located just 24kms from the city of Limerick, the airport provides access to the southern and mid-western regions of Ireland.

Shannon Airport comprises a single terminal building serving both arrivals and departures, as well as a combination of domestic and foreign flights.

A comprehensive selection of customer services and facilities is available at Shannon Airport, including banking services, shops and dining areas. Money exchange counters, along with ATMs, are located in the check-in concourse, while full banking services are offered in the Arrivals area. Post boxes are conveniently located in both the Arrivals and check-in areas, with stamps on sale at the food store positioned between the two concourses.

A selection of bars and restaurants (including a 24-hour bar) are dotted around the airport building and provide a variety of snacks, drinks and hot meals. Both duty-free and regular shops are housed in the terminal, with excellent bargains available in the tax-free store in the Departures area.

A nursery is located in the Departure lounge and a second parent/baby facility is situated in the Arrivals area. Disabled passengers are well catered for at Shannon Airport, with lifts, ramps, adapted toilets and special telephones for the hearing impaired.

Getting to and from the airport

Shannon International Airport is accessible from the city of Limerick via the N18 highway to Ennis and Galway. Follow the N18 as far as Bunratty Castle, then follow signs to the airport, bearing left onto the N19.

Taxis are easily available from outside the airport building and provide transport to Limerick, Ennis and other nearby destinations. Car hire is available and Bus Eireann coaches run from the airport to a variety of regional and national destinations. There is no direct rail link from Shannon Airport, but the train station in Limerick provides connections to a wide variety of destinations.

Short- and long-term parking spaces are available in the airport car parks, which are open around the clock. Parking charges can be paid at the automated machines located at the Arrivals area exit door.
