Dinard

Dinard is located opposite St Malo on the coast of Brittany. Its location makes it an ideal place to explore other famous destinations in the area. Seaside promenades, splendid beaches and Victorian villas make Dinard a wonderful holiday spot.

Owing to its relaxed atmosphere, visitors to Dinard are able to enjoy the beach and town without the raucous excitement that some holiday destinations are known for. Travellers can enjoy swimming and sunbathing by the beach, or participate in some of the numerous water sports available such as sailing and jet-skiing.

Promenades with lots of shopping and eating opportunities stretch along the coastline from both ends of the beach. For fantastic views of the islands and inlets in the area, climb to the Moulinet Point (Pointe du Moulinet). Along the way are the picturesque port of Clair de Lune and the beautiful beach, Plage du Prieure.

The casino in town is where a lot of the activity can be found. Most of the restaurants, cafés and bars are situated behind the seaside villas, keeping the beach quiet and calm. St Malo is just over the bridge from Dinard. There are many shops and cafés to visit as well as St Vincent Cathedral.

From Dinard, it is easy to take a boat out to the Channel Islands, or drive to the Rance River valley. To the east lie the oyster farms of Cancale, while to the south is the town of Rennes. Rennes is the capital of Brittany and has some impressive 16^th century architecture as well as some fascinating museums.

Dinard St Malo Airport is about 10kms to the south of the city centre. The airport has regular scheduled flights from European cities. However, most travellers to Dinard fly into Paris’ Charles de Gaulle International Airport and arrive in Dinard by train, bus or hire car. There is a train station in St Malo. Taxis and buses are available from the airports and train stations.
