London Stansted Airport (STN)London Stansted Airport serves both London and the Midlands and sees around 14 million passengers annually. Stansted is the UK’s fourth-busiest airport and connects to over 100 destinations, the majority of which are in Europe. There is one terminal building with Arrivals and Departures on the same level. The terminal is convenient because of its monorail system and smaller size. This makes Stansted less hectic than Heathrow and Gatwick airports. The airport has several exchange bureaux and ATMs as well as a left luggage facility. Passengers will find several duty-free shops in Departures. Duty-free concessions are not available when flying within the EU. Some of the shops include Boots, HMV and the Tie Rack. There are several buffet style restaurants and two bars on hand in Departures.
Getting to and from the airport Stansted Airport is located off Junction 8a of the M11 motorway and less than 20 minutes away from Junction 27 of the M25 motorway. Travelling by train is the most convenient option for getting into London and the surrounding cities. The Stansted Express operates between the airport and London Liverpool Street Station regularly. Alternatively, the Airbus A6 stops at frequent North London points along its route. Jetlink services also run regularly to local towns and destinations further north. Taxis are also on hand at the airport. Both short and long-term parking are available. For booking information, call 0870 000 1 000 (UK) or (+44) 121 410 5105 (from outside the UK). |
